Steve Harmison (Ashington) has become part of both Geordie and English cricket history thereby enhancing the reputation of Geordies in relation to both cricket and Geordie sport in general.



I think he should be awarded a GEM for services to Geordie Sports.

Steve was part of the England team that regained the Ashes and his spectacular 7 wickets for only 12 runs over the West Indies in 2004.

In 2006 against Pakistan, Steve bowled 6-19 off just 13 overs and in the second he took 5-57 taking his tally to 11-76 which was the best match bowling figures at Old Trafford since Jim Laker's famous 19-90 exactly 50 years before.
