Homeowners in Wallsend are being warned they may be legally responsible for damage & injury that could be caused by falling snow and icicles which are now hanging from the edge of many of the towns roofs.
Several “extreme cases” have occurred where gutters had fallen due to the weight of snow and larger than usual icicles which have formed on the edges of the guttering.
Rightly the public are being warned to be on alert when streets and sidewalks are slippery, however, when the snow starts melting, avalanches slide from roof tops and become as much a hazard to both the householders and their visitors
