Return to Geordie History

We Will Remember Them – Geordie Monuments

Geordie’s absolutely treasure their cultural past which can be seen by the many statues and monuments erected around the City of Newcastle Upon Tyne and it’s surrounding towns & villages.

They love to celebrate and remember the good deeds done by so many of the heroic Geordies who sacrificed their lives, to help secure the future of their own Communities, families and descendants.

Each year we remember Armistice Day in the North East which was first marked on the 11th November 1919 and remembers the day World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, back in 1918.

The following video does a brilliant job of highlighting many of those sacrifices.
