Geordies in England are in for a treat as well as experiencing a huge expected boost to the North East economy as the 2021 Rugby League World Cup is to be hosted at Newcastle United’s iconic St James’Park Stadium in October & November 2021.
England will host Samoa on Saturday 23 of October
Scotland will play Italy on the 24th of October
Fiji will play Italy on the 30th of October
Fiji will play Scotland on the 6th of November
Owners of Hotels and B&B establishments across Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyneside, Durham and Northumberland will be especially happy that St James’ Park will host the opening England men’s group game between England and Samoa, as well as the men’s opening ceremony on the 23rd of October 2021.
Further up the road, Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium will host a significant men’s group game, as part of meeting the UK Governments target, of hosting at least 80% of the tournament in the Northern Powerhouse.
