Whitley Bay, North Tyneside – Photos 2012 – 2014

Whitley Bay is a seaside town in North Tyneside on the North East coast with a long golden sandy beach which form a bay stretching from St. Mary’s Lighthouse & Island, Brierdene & Holywell Dene to the north, through to the start of Cullercoats Bay in the south.

The town has many shops, a leisure pool & of course the famous Spanish City with it’s distinctive white dome.

Until my marriage in 1951 I lived in Whitley Bay and went, with my two brothers, John and David, to Whitley & Monkseaton High School. What a beautiful place Whitley Bay was in those days and how sad to see it now.

If anyone remembers me I would dearly love to hear from them.
